Burgess Hill Town will hope to "make the most" of Premier League bound striker Greg Luer before he makes his move in January.

Luer has played a big part in Burgess Hill's unbeaten start to their tier eight Isthmian League South campaign, which sees them sitting second, four points behind Faversham Town and with four games in hand.

The 19-year-old will head north to join top-flight outfit Hull City in January and John Rattle, the Burgess goalkeeper coach and general manager said: "We want to make the most of him whilst he's around, Greg's a very good player and he's been instrumental in a front three that have scored quite a few goals between them.

"He's not only a goalscorer but he's a goal provider.

"We're very happy for him to be going up to Hull, but it means that we won't have him after December. There's a bit of sadness in there as well, though we wish him well and he'll always have a fond place in Burgess Hill Town FC's hearts."

Town are set to take on 16th placed Isthmian Premier side Leatherhead, who were promoted from the Isthmian South tier last season.

"They've been part of our league for the last two to three seasons and we always have competitive games against Leatherhead," revealed Rattle.

"We came away with a victory towards the end of last season at their place, so we know a lot about each other.

"You're judged on a season, they got into the play-offs because they were more consistent than us."

Rattle's side boasts a formidable home record having not lost in any form of competition so far this season, as well as boasting an almost fully-fit squad.

"Obviously we're unbeaten in the league, we enjoy playing at home and at the same time we approach it no differently to any league game really," he added.

"We have a couple of fitness doubts but they're all coming back gradually and we hope to have a fully fit squad for Saturday."

With this in mind and with the services of Luer to call upon, Burgess Hill should take a lot of confidence into a match which is likely to be another close game between the two sides.
