Bradley Fewster celebrates his strike in Germany

When the U19s take to the field on Friday, Bradley Fewster will be looking to continue exactly where he left off last time he donned the Three Lions shirt.

The young Middlesbrough striker has scored five in four England outings so far this term, including four in the UEFA U19 European Championships qualifying round in October.

However, despite his positive start to the season, Fewster has the striker’s desire to always score more.

“I always try and aim to score in every game I play,” he says.

“Personally, I set myself a target of scoring more goals per game, so I’m happy with my record for the season so far.

“But there were chances in the games where I could have had a couple more.

"So I’m a bit disappointed with that, but it’s just about staying in the game and taking the next chance that comes along.”

Sean O’Driscoll’s side take on Italy at Rotherham’s New York Stadium on Friday evening.

The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport, and also available to all to stream free on TheFA.com.

It will be the U19s' second high-profile friendly of the season.

In September they travelled to Germany in September and secured a 1-1 draw, with Fewster the man on the scoresheet again.

And the 18-year-old says he expects another stern, but useful, test against the Azzurrini.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” he said.

“It’s good to play against teams like Italy because they are the sort of sides we’ll be playing in the Euros if we get there, so it’s a great test for us.”

The Middlesbrough-born forward also has fond memories of Friday’s venue.

He featured for England U18s there in their victory against Germany in April, and says it is a night he will always look back on with great affection.

“It was the biggest crowd I’ve ever played in front of,” he added.

“It was the best night of my career, up until I made my debut for Middlesbrough.

“It was something special.

"Credit to the people of Rotherham and the people who turned up, it made it a special night and to get a late winner made it even more special.”
