Wycombe Wanderers fined after breaking agent rules

Phil Smith has had his agent’s licence suspended with immediate effect

Wycombe Wanderers have been fined £10,000 and warned as to their future conduct after they admitted breaching The FA's regulations in relation to player agent activity.

With regards to the same matter, football agent Phil Smith has had his agent’s licence suspended with immediate effect for two years, 18 months of which has been suspended for two years. 

The suspended element of this sanction will be invoked in full upon a proven breach of The FA football agent regulations during that period.

Smith, who denied the breaches was also warned as to his future conduct following the Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.

The sanctions are subject to any appeal.

Update: On 11 July football agent Phil Smith has successfully appealed an Independent Regulatory Commission decision.
