Jordan Henderson celebrates after scoring against Tottenham

England international Jordan Henderson put the gloss on a wonderful Liverpool performance as he scored the final goal in their 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers' side moved to the top of the Premier League with the victory, which was kick-started by an early own goal from Younes Kaboul, with Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho scoring before Henderson's late free-kick.

England skipper Steven Gerrard played a vital role, while Raheem Sterling was outstanding and Daniel Sturridge showed just why his partnership with Suarez has had so much success.

Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan also played for Liverpool, while the likes of Danny Rose and Andros Townsend were unable to prevent Spurs from slipping to defeat.

In the day's other Premier League game, Leighton Baines was on the winning side as Everton kept up their chase for a top-four spot with a 3-1 win at Fulham.

England Under-21 international John Stones also played a key role for Everton, who now have genuine hopes of overhauling Arsenal to take fourth spot after their fifth straight victory.

Meanwhile, U17 forward Patrick Roberts came off the Fulham bench for his Craven Cottage debut.
