England U19s duo Jack Barmby and Luke Williams have joined Hartlepool on month-long loan deals.

The pair join the League Two outfit from Manchester United and Middlesbrough respectively, and will be eligible to play on Saturday subject to Football League approval.

Barmby, son of former England international Nick, has appeared for England at U16s, U18s and U19s level – while Williams has featured for the development teams on 16 occasions, including in each of the Three Lions’ three games at the 2013 FIFA U20s World Cup in Turkey.

Williams was part of the England U17s squad that won the 2010 European Championship Final in Liechtenstein.

Barmby impressed throughout his time at academy level for Manchester United and has gone on to feature regularly for the Red Devils’ Under-21 outfit, catching the eye with a number of outstanding performances in the 2011 Milk Cup.

Hartlepool boss Colin Cooper will be hoping the pair add some much needed firepower up front.

The Pools sit 16th in League Two and have failed to score in any of their past three outings.

Next up for Cooper's men is a home fixture against York on Saturday 25 January, before an away game at Wimbledon three days later.
