Henderson celebrates crucial goal

Jordan Henderson scored a dramatic late goal as Liverpool edged out Swansea City in a seven-goal thriller at Anfield.

Henderson - who had already netted earlier in the game - pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted home with 16 minutes remaining to give Brendan Rodgers' side a crucial three points that keeps them in touch with league leaders Chelsea - and provides breathing space ahead of the pack chasing fourth position.

The game - which finished 4-3 to Liverpool - also saw Daniel Sturridge continue his sensational run of form with a brace of his own.

Liverpool were made to work hard for their win as a plucky Swansea side came back from 2-0 and 3-2 down - and will consider themselves unfortunate not to leave Anfield with a share of the spoils.

The goals were Henderson's first since the 5-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur in December - while former Liverpool midfielder and Under-21 international Jonjo Shelvey also got his name on the scoresheet in the entertaining early-afternoon affair on Merseyside.

As well as the goalscoring trio, there were also a number of other England players involved in the game with Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and Raheem Sterling all starting for the Reds

Elsewhere on Sunday an added-time winner from Loic Remy gave Newcastle United a vital 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at St. James' Park.

While in the day's late kick-off a Robert Snodgrass strike just after half-time was enough for Norwich City, who beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at Carrow Road.
