Frank Lampard brought an end to his 15-year England career after the World Cup.

Things also changed for him at club level as he ended his long association at Chelsea by joining MLS side New York City – although he has since returned to the Premier League with a loan move to Manchester City.

He was one of 23-players selected by manager Roy Hodgson to travel to Brazil in the summer, and he appeared in all three of the Three Lions’ matches in South America.

The midfielder appeared seven times in total for his country in 2014, and although he failed to add his tally of 29 goals, he captained the side twice against Ecuador and Costa Rica.
