Rosenior in action for Hull City at Sunday's Semi-Final

Liam Rosenior paid tribute to the magic of The FA Cup and Hull City boss Steve Bruce, after he guided them to their first ever FA Cup Final on Sunday.

City had to show their resolve in the second half at Wembley after finding themselves behind against League One outfit Sheffield United in the Semi-Final.

But a half-time inquest and double substitution from Bruce saw the Tigers turn the game on its head and eventually win 5-3 to set up a Final date with Arsenal on Saturday 17 May.

"The manager has been brilliant all season," admitted Rosenior.

"He didn’t panic, he made a couple of substitutions and we went a bit more attacking.

"We looked much more like ourselves in the second half."

The 29-year-old was also full of praise for Nigel Clough’s United side, who pushed Hull all the way and could easily have been the ones now preparing for The Final.

Goals from Jose Baxter and Stefan Scougall put them deservedly 2-1 ahead at half time and former Under-21 full-back Rosenior admits it was tough.

"First of all, commiserations to Sheffield United, they put on an unbelievable show today for a League One team," he added.

"They gave us quite a shock, especially in the first half, but what a Semi-Final.

"This game showed what we are as a team, we keep going, we never give up and we ran out winners in the end."

Rosenior is now looking forward to another trip back to Wembley for The Final next month, when they will face Arsene Wenger’s Gunners.

And having already sampled the Wembley atmosphere in the Semi-Final, the former Fulham and Bristol City player is eager for more.

"I think it’s just a fantastic spectacle for The FA Cup," he said.

"A lot has been said about it losing its spark or its magic, but for me it’s what football is all about.

"What a day, I can’t believe it, we’re in the Final of The FA Cup!"
