England trio Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan were all on target as Liverpool thrashed 10-man Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Luis Suarez, made Reds captain in the absence of Steven Gerrard, opened the scoring on 18 minutes before Henderson doubled the advantage shortly before the break.
Three Lions Under-21 defender Flanagan smashed home his first Liverpool goal 15 minutes from the end to make it 3-0, while Suarez bagged his 17th goal of a remarkable season on 84. And Sterling completed the rout in the final minute.
Brazilian midfielder Paulinho was sent off in the second half to compound Spurs' misery.
This result has hauled Liverpool back into second place in the Premier League just two points behind leaders Arsenal.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: "That is probably the most complete performance [since taking charge].
"The players worked tirelessly. How we pressed the game was very good and tactically we were excellent. The level of our football was superb.
"We got five goals and arguably we could have had seven or eight. That's the beauty of this team, we have got goals in it."
Two more England internationals were in goalscoring form on Sunday, as a brace from Danny Welbeck and a second-half strike from Tom Cleverley allowed Manchester United to win 3-0 at Aston Villa and end a run of two consecutive league defeats.
And United boss David Moyes praised both of his scorers.
He said: "I thought Danny did a great job, I thought he played great today. He got two and he was unlucky to have not got another one or two as well.
"I was pleased for Tom Cleverley as well. He played really well today, Tom. He passed the ball well, he got hold of it and to get a third goal for us was really important."
