Scott Sinclair says he hasn’t given up hope on breaking into the England squad in the future, as he bids to return from injury and a "disappointing year" in 2013.
The forward is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion from Manchester City, but has been left frustrated by a hamstring injury which has kept him sidelined over the last two months.
That follows on from a shoulder problem which kept him out of contention for a place in City’s team in the second half of last season.
And now he wants to put the last 12 months behind him by winning back his place in the West Brom team, re-discovering the impressive form he showed with Swansea City two seasons ago and enjoying different fortunes in 2014.
“Every player has that chance - it comes down to performances.”

"I want to stay injury free and enjoy my football next year,” revealed the former Chelsea and Bristol Rovers player.
"I want to play every week. It's been a disappointing year for me. From now until the new year hopefully I can get more luck."
Sinclair has represented England at every level from U16 to Under-21 over the years, but has yet to taste life within the Senior set-up.
But the 24-year-old refuses to give up on his international hopes and now wants to prove his point on the pitch and challenge for a place in Roy Hodgson's squad.
"Every player has that chance and hope - it comes down to my performances,” he told the Birmingham Mail.
"If I'm performing on the field then why not? There is still time.
"It gives you hope when you see players who perform well being brought in like Andros [Townsend], [Adam] Lallana, [Jay] Rodriguez, it gives us all hope that if we perform at the weekend we might get called up."
