Sheffield United players celebrate with their fans

Nigel Clough celebrated a "remarkable effort" from his Sheffield United players after they claimed the second Premier League scalp of their FA Cup campaign at Fulham on Tuesday night.

The Blades held Fulham to a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane 10 days ago and then scored a decisive winner after 119 goalless minutes at Craven Cottage to secure their place in the Fifth Round.

Sheffield United knocked out Aston Villa in the Third Round, and will face either Nottingham Forest or Preston North End at home for a place in the quarter-finals.

After watching 97th-minute substitute Shaun Miller score at the death, Clough said: "If you hang on in there at 0-0 you've always got that opportunity.

"It's a remarkable effort by the players. You hear our 3,000 supporters out there absolutely loving it."

With Fulham bottom of the Premier League, and Sheffield United in the League One relegation places confidence was clearly low in either camp, but Clough believes the visitors were the better side.

"I thought we did enough during the game to get one [goal], with a little bit more composure in and around the goal area," he said.

"But we didn't think it was going to come that late. To score 30 seconds before the end, it's special."
