The head coach has named an 18-man squad to travel to Macedonia, where they will begin their campaign with a clash against the host nation on Thursday 8 October before taking on Finland two days later.

They conclude their opening group stage with a match against Italy on Tuesday 13 October.

Only the top two sides in the group will progress to the Elite Round qualifiers next spring, where the group winners of that will advance to the summer showpiece in Germany.

Former Watford boss Boothroyd, who was in charge of the U20s last season, began his tenure of the U19s with an impressive 3-2 win in Germany at the beginning of September that was followed up with a 1-1 draw away to Croatia.

The squad includes 12 members of the group that won the Euros at U17 level in 2014, with 13 of the party having already made senior debuts at club level.
