England's 2018 World Cup qualification fixtures decided

Sunday 26 Jul 2015
Scotland travel to Wembley on 11 November

England road to qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia has been mapped out following Saturday's draw in St Petersburg.

The fixtures were decided on Sunday using UEFA's approved computerised system, which takes into account a number of factors including travel and domestic competition commitments.

The Three Lions kick off their Group F campaign on 4 September 2016 with an away trip to Slovakia, before taking on Malta at home on 8 October, and travelling to Slovenia three days later.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting 11 November's home clash with Scotland, with the return fixture taking place on 10 June 2017.

England's 10-match qualification concludes with a trip to Lithuania on Sunday 8 October, with the top side guaranteed World Cup qualification.

European qualification is comprised by nine groups, with the eight best-placed runners-up going forward to a two-leg qualification playoff.
