Arsenal and Liverpool powered to five-star victories in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup fourth round to secure progression after defeating Bristol City and West Ham United, respectively.

Last year’s finalists Tottenham Hotspur saw their progress halted by Everton who earned a 2-0 victory at home to the north London side.

Elsewhere, Brighton & Hove Albion can also look forward to a fifth round fixture after winning 4-1 against Women’s Championship high-flyers Durham on the south coast.

Bruna Vilamala got them off the mark after just six minutes, firing home at the back post from Marisa Olislagers’ whipped delivery.

Michelle Agyemang doubled the hosts’ advantage from the spot, before Guro Bergsvand made it three before the 30-minute mark.

Durham threatened a comeback in the second half as Hannah Blake grabbed a consolation goal in the 71st minute.

But Nikita Parris ensured Brighton’s passage, tapping home a fourth in stoppage time to earn the hosts a trip to Aston Villa in the fifth round.

Arsenal also proved their dominance at home to Championship opposition as they raced to 5-0 victory over Bristol City at Meadow Park.

Stina Blackstenius got the Gunners off the mark after just three minutes, tapping home at the back post from Beth Mead’s cross.

Frida Maanum added a second five minutes later before Mead headed home a third at the back post.

Blackstenius and Mead would secure a brace each either side of half-time, adding Arsenal’s fourth and fifth in style to secure a match-up with London City Lionesses in the next round.

Liverpool were another team to benefit from a fast start as they saw off West Ham United 5-0 to secure a fifth round fixture against Rugby Borough.

An own goal from Camila Saez from a corner in the third minute saw the hosts off on the wrong foot, and it never improved.

After Viviane Asseyi had seen a goal ruled out for offside, Liverpool were next on the scoresheet as Leanne Kiernan rounded Megan Walsh to double the advantage.

It went from bad to worse for the hosts as Amber Tysiak saw red for a late challenge on Taylor Hinds, before Grace Fisk and Lucy Parry increased the deficit.

Sam Kerr provided the visitors further reason to celebrate as she bagged her first Liverpool goal to complete the rout.

It took longer for Everton to find their breakthrough as they knocked last year’s finalists Tottenham Hotspur out with 2-0 victory at Walton Hall Park.

It was worth the wait, though, as Kelly Gago bagged her first Everton goal at the far post just after the break before Heather Payne added a second to secure the win in stoppage time.

They now face a visit to Chelsea in the fifth round.
