An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned Bristol City FC for misconduct in relation to its EFL Championship fixture against Cardiff City FC on Sunday 2 October 2024.
It was alleged that Bristol City FC failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be supporters or followers) conduct themselves in an orderly fashion around both the 27th and 80th minutes and don’t use words or otherwise behave in an improper, offensive, abusive, indecent, or insulting way with either express or implied reference to gender and/or nationality and/or race and/or ethnic origin.
Bristol City FC subsequently admitted the charges. The Regulatory Commission imposed an action plan and £7,500 fine on the club following a hearing, and its written reasons for these sanctions can be read below.
