St George’s Park recently welcomed the return of England Women’s Rugby team to our Staffordshire facility. The Red Roses visited for two training camps, in preparation of securing their fifth successive Six Nations championship.

The Red Roses’ Six Nations campaign kicks off against Scotland on Saturday 25th March at Kingston Park.

Head Coach Simon Middleton and the squad previously trained at our state-of-the art facility in the run up to last year’s triumphant Six Nations campaign. The team will be looking to repeat the success of last year, with their time at SGP proving to be vital preparation that set them up for success.

Simon Middleton, said: “Coming to St. George’s [Park] gives us the best opportunity to be successful in the tournament.

“We want places that have pitches, that are close to gyms, that have recovery facilities, that’s got accommodation, and we want it as high a standard as possible and this is the best standard there is.

“The quality of the facilities is as good as it gets. The whole efficiency of the programme improves when we come to a facility like this.”

Amber Reed, England Rugby player, said: “St. George’s Park is an amazing facility for us as an England rugby team. To come here at the home of English football, the quality of the facilities is amazing.”

Sarah Beckett, another England player, said: “We’ve made really good strides in our preparation this weekend. I think the pitch being in such good condition has definitely helped that.

“It’s just been a really nice environment, everyone has been really helpful and we’ve loved our time here.”
