James Maddison left Norwich City for Leicester City in the summer after a successful season at Carrow Road last term

England U21s are back in action on Thursday evening when they face a crucial Euro qualifier against the Netherlands.

A victory for Aidy Boothroyd’s team would strengthen their position at the top of their group with just three games to go.

The game takes place at Carrow Road, a familiar venue for two members of the squad in James Maddison and Angus Gunn who both played for the Canaries last season.

And, ahead of the match against the Dutch, we got both of their recommendations for things to do in the East Anglian city.

You can read the two full interviews with both James and Angus in the match programme for Thursday night’s game with the Netherlands. Pick up a copy at Carrow Road, or you can order one online.

Tickets for the game cost just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions and will be available at the Carrow Road ticket office on the night.

What’s your favourite thing about Norwich? The Riverside. It’s like a little place near to where I lived and just two minutes from the stadium. There’s an entertainment park where there’s a cinema, loads of restaurants, bowling, it’s got the lot! That was all I needed.

What’s the best place for dinner in Norwich? I would probably say Middleton’s. It’s very, very nice.

What’s your favourite shop in Norwich? I’d have to say Jarrold. I was probably in there the most.

What’s on your music playlist at the moment? Tom Grennan, I think his music’s pretty cool and I know him. And I’ve also been listening to some old tunes, stuff like Westlife, Will Young and James Morrison.

What are you watching at the moment? I’m watching Power at the minute.

Southampton's Angus Gunn spent last season on loan at Norwich from Manchester City, having previously been an academy player at Carrow Road

What’s the best place for dinner in Norwich? Good question. I would say Shiki, which is a sushi restaurant.

What’s your favourite shop in Norwich? My barber shop, Esquire.

What’s on your music playlist at the moment? In My Feelings by Drake, and his new album.

What are you watching at the moment? Designated Survivor on Netflix, it’s class.
