All-Welsh clash thrown up in Emirates FA Cup second round

Monday 12 Nov 2018
The second round is scheduled for the weekend of Friday 30 November

Wrexham will entertain Newport County in an all-Welsh Emirates FA Cup second round tie after the draw was made on Monday night.

The Red Dragons defeated Weston Super Mare in round one while Michael Flynn’s side saw off a non-League side themselves in the shape of Metropolitan Police.

There are two all-League One ties as 2008 Cup winners Portsmouth travel to Rochdale and Walsall host 1973 victors Sunderland.

The draw took place at The Beveree, home of National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough, ahead of their agonising first round defeat by Oldham Athletic.

The draw was conducted by Brighton & Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray and former Middlesbrough and Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
