St. George's Park ready for National Youth Leagues conference

Friday 21 Apr 2017
The third National Youth Leagues conference takes place this weekend

Delegates from youth leagues all over the country will unite at St. George’s Park this weekend to explore how best to develop player-centred environments to create prime football experiences.

Senior FA figures, including head of women’s football Baroness Sue Campbell, will be present at the third National Youth Leagues conference to address the attendees, who will also take part in workshops, such as how you can play your part in maximising respect within the game.

The event is at full capacity, with 170 delegates from 80 leagues set to visit the national football centre.

FA vice-chairman and FA Council leader Barry W Bright said: “In the last 18 months there has been significant change and development in the game.

“Youth Leagues have been at the very heart of much of this activity and played a pivotal role in delivering success.

“This was clearly in evidence in the latter part of 2016 when Youth Leagues worked tirelessly with the FA and CFAs to ensure that all youth clubs were safeguarding compliant.

“We anticipate the next 18 months being as equally challenging and exciting as the last 18 and on that basis this weekend’s programme has been shaped to support those in attendance to meet those challenges.”
