Lukas Nmecha scored a hat-trick in both legs against Stoke

Manchester City will face Chelsea in The FA Youth Cup Final for the third successive year after easing past Stoke City 9-2 on aggregate.

The two-time champions had led 6-0 following the first leg, adding a 3-2 win away from home to complete a job well done and reach a ninth final.

Despite their significant first-leg advantage, the visitors showed no signs of slowing down as Lukas Nmecha scored his eighth goal of the competition with just two minutes on the clock.

Following up his hat-trick against the same opponents, the striker escaped his marker to be in the perfect place to stroke home Luke Bolton’s drilled cross from the right-hand side to give Lee Carsley’s side a perfect start.

Stoke then got a foothold in the game, carving out a couple of half-chances, notably through Jordan Greenidge and Tyrese Campbell – the pair that fired their side into the last four.

It was Greenidge who got a brilliant equaliser on the night too, volleying expertly in the area after being found by a pin-point cross from Jordan Edwards.

England Under-19s striker Nmecha ensured the game wasn’t to be level for long though, piercing the defence before opening up his body to power in a shot from the edge of the area to give City a 2-1 lead, 8-1 on aggregate.

That was how it was to stay at half time, but Nmecha was not to be denied his second hat-trick against the Potters, his last goal coming from the spot, dusting himself down after being fouled in the area to hit double figures in the competition.

Stoke did pick up a consolation, with Greenidge getting his second of the evening with a low drilled shot.

But that wasn't enough to stop Manchester City from reaching a third straight final against Chelsea and no doubt eyeing up revenge after defeats in their last two meetings, looking for a first title since 2008.
