The England Under-16s line-up to face Holland in France

England Under-16s were denied victory by a late goal on Thursday, as they drew 2-2 with the Netherlands in their second game of the Val de Marne Tournament.

Dan Micciche’s side had shown great spirit to bounce back from a second minute opener from the Dutch, as goals from Manchester City’s Jadon Sancho and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon put the Young Lions ahead at half time.

But they were denied a deserved win as Holland equalised in stoppage time to ensure a share of the spoils.

It was the second time in two days that England have suffered from conceding late goals as they continue to develop on the international stage, after losing 4-3 to Japan on Tuesday to two strikes in the last ten minutes of their opening game.

The Young Lions will play their third and final game of the competition against hosts France at the Complex Sportif in Bonneuil sur Marne, just outside Paris on Saturday afternoon.
