England Women’s captain Steph Houghton has withdrawn from Mark Sampson’s Cyprus Cup squad due to a knee injury.

The 26-year-old will return to England on Sunday night but will not be replaced by another player.

The injury will not affect Houghton’s World Cup chances.

England have already qualified for Wednesday’s Cyprus Cup final and they complete their group campaign against Holland on Monday.
