England U20s international Ben Pearson has joined Barnsley on a one-month deal from Manchester United.

The talented midfielder joined the Red Devils in 2004 and has progressed through the ranks to become a vital member of Warren Joyce’s U21 squad at United this season.

"Ben's a very good player and will add energy and class"

Barnsley boss Danny Wilson

He has represented his country at U16s, U17s, U18s, U19s and made his debut for Aidy Boothroyd’s U20s against Holland in October.

Born in Oldham, Pearson starred for United in their 2-1 win against the Tykes in pre-season, a performance that impressed Barnsley boss Danny Wilson.

“Ben left a lasting impression on us from our friendly in July,” Wilson explained to Barnsleyfc.co.uk.

“He is a very, very good player and will add energy and class to our midfield. I'm delighted Manchester United have allowed us to have Ben on loan.”

Pearson could make his debut on Saturday when Barnsley welcome Yeovil to South Yorkshire.
