Lewis Baker has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Chelsea.

The England U20s captain – who signed a five-year contract with the Blues in August – has signed for the Championship side until 2 May.

Baker, 19, made his Chelsea debut as a substitute in the club's 2013-14 FA Cup tie against Derby County.

He has also spent time with Gareth Southgate's Under-21s after being called up to the squad to face Croatia in the Euro 2015 play-off fixtures.

Widely tipped for a bright future at the top of the game, Baker won Chelsea's 2013-14 Young Player of the Year after impressing in the middle of the park during the club's Under-21 Premier League-winning season.

A stunning backheel against Arsenal in an Under-21 game also won him the club's Goal of the Season award that year.

Baker has represented England at U17s, U19s and U20s levels – and has amassed 22 appearances for the Young Lions.
