Get your squad ready for the new season

It is now even easier for managers to invite their squad to use The FA Matchday app this season. As part of the latest update, managers can make sure all their players are matchday ready ahead of the 20/21 season amongst some other great updates.

What's new?

The new squad tab allows managers to invite players or parents/carers to join The FA Matchday app with a single tap
It also allows players to check-out their teammates and will soon show performance stats!
For the first time, managers can customise The FA Matchday app by adding your club badge and colours
Getting your players into The FA Matchday app will help you collect their availability for training and future fixtures, as well as take contactless payments for your clubs annual or play-as-you-play fees

See below some frequently asked questions to help you get started with The FA Matchday app:

How to invite parents/carers to join Matchday? (Youth Teams only)

Find the Youth players name in your Squad list and click to view their profile
In order to login, first a valid email address needs to be entered and then the parent/carer link needs to be confirmed
Once those steps have been completed the final step is to download and login to The FA Matchday app
Congratulations – your Parent/Carer is Matchday active

How to invite players to join Matchday? (Open Age Teams only)

Find the players name in your Squad list and click to view their profile
Enter a valid email address
The player will instantly receive an email to create a password then download and login to The FA Matchday app
Congratulations – your player is Matchday active

Other information for inviting parents/carers to join Matchday? (Youth Teams only)

You can now add up to 5 parents against any Youth player. All of these individuals can login to The FA Matchday app to manage the Youths availability and payments
Once an invite has been sent, it will expire after 7 days if the parent/carer fails to register during that window. This is a safeguarding requirement.

Is this where a Club registers a new player?

No, player registration is still managed through Whole Game System, this is simply inviting players or parents/carers to login to The FA Matchday app.

A player is missing from my squad list, why?

The squad list will only show active/registered players from Whole Game System.

Does this mean all of these players are league registered?

No, this squad list shows all active/registered players from Whole Game System. When you look to organise your squad for an upcoming fixture you will see those that are not league registered highlighted.

Can I change the email address for a player or parent/carer?

If the player or parent/carer is Matchday active, only they can change their details by visiting My Account through TheFA.com
If the player is pending Matchday login, the email address can be edited and a new invite sent
If the parent/carer is pending parent/carer link, the email address can be edited and a new invite sent

When will player stats appear in The FA Matchday app?

We are working to get player performance stats added into the app for the 2020/21 season. Watch this space!
