St. George’s Park will be the practical and spiritual home of FA Learning, the educational arm of The FA.
It will benefit all the component parts of English football, from basic educational needs through to the elite game. It offers an inspirational learning environment and will create a knowledge bank for the whole football family, from administrators and coaches to medics and referees.
As the hub for FA Learning programmes, St. George’s Park will become the nerve centre for building innovative training and learning programmes. It houses the essential technology and equipment to advance teaching methods and resource development.
A programme of improved learning opportunities and events will provide relevant options for those working at all levels of the game across disciplines.
St. George’s Park opens its doors to students from all walks of life and levels of the game – and to domestic and international learners.
The long-term FA Learning vision through St. George’s Park is to offer professional, accredited training, enhancing the skills of the current football workforce and developing the next generation of coaches, referees, medics and administrators.
FA Learning recognises the importance of creating recognised, formal qualification pathways. For careers in football to be truly credible professions, The FA will seek partnerships and pathways for its workforce into and from higher education.
Whilst FA Learning’s biggest audience is coaches (accounting for approximately 75% of the training), it will offer a broad range of learning pathways and qualifications to promote the many other associated careers available in modern-day football, beyond playing.
Students attending FA Learning residential courses will stay in the ‘Hampton-by-Hilton’ rooms operated by the hotel. Apart from all the outdoor facilities, the following also form part of St.George’s Park educational facilities:
- 100-seater lecture theatre or cinema
- Flexible seminar rooms for six, 10 or 12 students
- Tuition rooms for 18/36 students
- Lecture rooms for 32/64 students
- Learning resource library and virtual ‘knowledge mall’
