Roger Espinoza's screamer against MK Dons voted goal of the round

Roger Espinoza's 25-yard screamer against MK Dons has been voted by fans as the best goal of The FA Cup Third Round.

The Wigan Athletic wing-back, who played a star role in their Cup Final victory over Manchester City last May, cracked home the opener in his side's 3-3 draw at the DW Stadium earlier this month.

Espinoza collected a half-clearance just outside the visitor's box before waving his left-foot to send the ball flying into the far top corner of the net.

Goal of the Third Round

  • Espinoza, WIGAN v Stevenage = 67%
  • Henderson, ROCHDALE v Leeds = 16%
  • Clyne, SOUTHAMPTON v Burnley = 11%
  • Kermorgant, CHARLTON v Oxford = 2%
  • Ngog, BOLTON v Blackpool = 2%
  • Forrester, DONCASTER v Stevenage = 1%

It gave Latics the lead, but the game ended up level meaning a replay at stadiummk.

Uwe Rosler's men eventually triumphed 3-1 to continue their defence of The FA Cup and line up a Fourth Round meeting with Crystal Palace.

Espinoza's goal received a whopping 67% of votes, beating off competition from Rochdale's Ian Henderson, who netted against Leeds United, and Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne, who bagged against Burnley.
