Women's U19s narrowly lose to Euro champions France

England Women’s U19s slipped to a 3-2 defeat to reigning European Champions France in the La Manga Tournament.

Natasha Flint put Mo Marley’s side ahead in the 10th minute but France took a 2-1 lead into the break.

Arsenal defender Leah Williamson, who captained the U17s at last year’s Euros, restored parity six minutes after the restart but the French grabbed a late winner.

The Young Lions have one final game in this annual tournament, against Italy on Wednesday, before they take on Finland, Serbia and Denmark in the Euro qualifiers in April.

England were runners-up to France in last year's Euro finals.
