England will face a variety of opponents at the Toulon Tournament this summer, with the Three Lions drawn out to face Brazil, Colombia, Korea Republic and Qatar.

Under-21s Head Coach Gareth Southgate will take an U20 squad to the annual competition in southern France, shortly after his side’s Euro qualifier with Wales on 19 May.

And they are guaranteed a minimum of four games, with two groups of five nations making up the competition between 22 and 29 May and 1 June, when the final will be played.

The draw for the tournament was made earlier this week and England were teamed in Group B, where they will face two South American nations in Brazil and Colombia and Asian opposition from Korea and Qatar.

Group A contains China, Chile, Portugal, Mexico and host nation France.

A final schedule of games is still to be confirmed, but England’s group games will take place on 22, 24, 26 and 28 May.

Speaking about the trip to Toulon, Southgate said: "This will be a different challenge with the younger players in the group, as we head to the Toulon Tournament in France.

"That will see us playing nations from Asia and South America, so it’s a different test for us.

"We need that for our development as a team and individuals, to face those different styles and experience being away with an intense programme of games."

With the Under-21s’ final game of the season in Wales scheduled to take place on 19 May, Southgate will pick a larger squad which would include those selected for Toulon Tournament.

And after the game in Wales, the players who are too old for Toulon would disperse, leaving the younger players to travel to France for the games.
