Neil Dewsnip has handed three youngsters their first international call-ups after naming his England U18 squad to face Italy next week.

Fresh from recording two successive victories over Holland a fortnight ago, which kicked off the new campaign, the Young Lions travel to Venice to take on the Azzurrini at Stadio Giovanni Chiggiato in Caorle.

Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Harry Lewis is one of those to receive his first England call-up, joining Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kyle Walker-Peters and Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham.

“We are all looking forward to traveling to Italy and facing another tough test,” Dewsnip told TheFA.com.

“It’s an appropriate one for this age group, because I think they need to be challenged – and that is what they will face.”

Callum Connolly, the Everton full-back who scored his first two goals for his country against the Dutch last time out, and Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke, scorer of the other in that 3-1 win, are both included in the party.

Sam Howes, Dael Fry, Callum Cooke, Josh Onomah and Demetri Mitchell, who all won the European U17 Championship in May, are also named in the 16.

Dewsnip’s youngsters will fly to Venice on Sunday, where they will prepare for Wednesday’s encounter, which kicks-off at 2pm (BST).
