Harry Kane celebrates one of his three goals against Leicester City

England forward Harry Kane celebrated his full England call-up with his first Premier League hat-trick on Saturday.

The man with eight goals in ten games at Under-21 level starred in Tottenham’s entertaining 4-3 win over Leicester City at White Hart Lane.

On Thursday, Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson called him up for the Lithuania qualifier and friendly with Italy, and Hodgson was present as the 21-year-old scored twice early on before completing his hat-trick with a penalty just after the hour mark.

Kane has now notched an impressive 29 goals in all competitions this term.

His manager Mauricio Pochettino said:”A striker who scores three goals is always great. I am happy for him and for the team. Now we look forward and keep going.”

Andros Townsend, also named in the England squad, played an hour of Spurs’ victory, while Kyle Walker accidentally injured team-mate Hugo Lloris, who had to be stretchered off.

It wasn’t a great afternoon for goalkeepers, with Fraser Forster also leaving the field on a stretcher in the opening stages of Burnley’s visit to St Mary’s.

The former Celtic stopper was also called up by Hodgson on Thursday, but fell to the ground after clearing a ball in the first ten minutes and was carried off to a standing ovation.

Nathaniel Clyne played a part in the opening goal in Saints’ 2-0 win however, with his shot being deflected home by Shane Long.

It was also not the best of afternoons for Fabian Delph, called back into the Three Lions squad after missing the last two internationals through injury.

He went close to scoring a couple of times but could not beat Lukasz Fabianski as Aston Villa lost 1-0 at home to Swansea City and sit just three points clear of the relegation zone.
