"There’s only two Kyle Walkers" was the chant from the White Hart Lane faithful during Tottenham’s 2-0 FA Youth Cup semi-final first-leg victory against Chelsea.

But young defender Kyle Walker-Peters is very much his own man.

Semi-Final Second Leg

Tottenham lead 2-0

At 17 years old he has already impressed on the international scene, making three appearances for England Under-18s.

And on Wednesday night he will be part of the Tottenham squad that travel to Stamford Bridge, hoping to protect their 2-0 advantage and progress to the club's first FA Youth Cup final in 20 years.

The Edmonton-born full-back says he and his team-mates are grateful for the support they received from the thousands inside White Hart Lane for the first leg, including the chant linking him to his namesake.

“I always hear that, they sing it quite a lot and it makes me smile,” said Walker-Peters.

"It’s great to have such support and to have all the fans there.

“I don’t think people take it into account how important it is as much as we do on the pitch. It really does help having that support.”

Like his club-mate and namesake, Walker-Peters is also pacey full-back, who can play further up the pitch if required.

However, unlike the established 24-year-old England international, Walker-Peters acknowledges he is at the very start and still has everything to prove.

“Progressing in The FA Youth Cup would be a huge a step for us,” he added.

“We know that winning it is not going to make our career, and losing it is not going to break our career.

“But it’s something we want to have on our CV because people are going to look at you and they’re going to know you’re a winner.

“You want to be classed as a winner and doing that will mean a lot to all the boys.

“A lot of us are playing for professional contracts at Tottenham, so progressing well and impressing in this competition can only help that.”

Tottenham won the first leg thanks to goals from Josh Onomah and Kazaiah Sterling.

They take on Chelsea in the return fixture at Stamford Bridge at 7pm on Wednesday 18 March.

“I know a lot of their players from the England setup,” he continued.

“I know Dominic Solanke well. I also know Tammy Abraham, Izzy Brown as well – it’s weird playing against them in such big games.

“We’ll wish each other luck before the game, maybe have a bit of banter, but as soon as the whistle goes we’re all focused on one thing and that’s getting the result for our team.”

Should they progress to the final, they will play either Leicester City or Manchester City – who play their second leg on Wednesday 8 April.

Manchester City lead 3-0 from pair's first meeting.
