Manchester City will hoping they can add another piece of silverware to the cabinet this season, having already secured the WSL title and through to the semi-final of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Let’s take a look at how they made it to the last four.
AFC Bournemouth 0-6 Manchester City
Bournemouth’s memorable cup run – which saw them reach the fourth round proper for the first time in their history – was ended by City, who packed their shooting boots for a trip to the south coast.
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw netted her 14th goal of the season to open the scoring for the visitors and City managed three goals in four minutes in quick succession before the half time whistle. Lauren Hemp made it two and Laure Coombs rippled the net with two goals in two minutes.
Vivianne Miedema then bagged a brace in the second half as it finished 6-0, making it 16 straight wins for the WSL side.
Manchester City 4-0 Sheffield United
The league leaders were up for the cup once again in the fifth round as Andrée Jeglertz's side put four past WSL2 side Sheffield United.
It didn’t take long for England international Hemp to break the deadlock with seven minutes on the watch and she doubled hers and City’s tally with just over ten minutes played to make it three goals in two FA Cup outings.
Aoba Fujino made it three before the break to ensure the hosts were firmly in the driving seat but City didn’t let up. Coombs – also on three goals in the competition – made it 4-0 in stoppage time.
Birmingham City 0-1 Manchester City
Three-time winners Women’s FA Cup winners Manchester City secured their place in the semi-final with a slender victory over Birmingham City, also vying for promotion to the WSL, in the last eight.
Shaw’s eight-minute strike proved to be the difference between the two teams at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s stadium. The striker timed her run perfectly to latch on to Iman Beney pass before finishing the move.
And City – who were at Wembley in the Women’s FA Cup Final in 2021-22, having last won the competition in 2019-20 – were through to the semi-final.
