Yuka Momiki scored twice before half time

Yuka Momiki’s brace helped Everton avoid an upset at the Alexander Stadium as they defeated West Bromwich Albion 5-0 in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup fourth round.

Momiki bagged her two in the first half to put the Toffees in control at the break before the Barclays Women’s Super League outfit cruised to victory in the second half.

Ornella Vignola, Toni Payne and Issy Hobson all added to the scoreline to ensure Everton enter the fifth round off the back of a five-star victory.

It took just nine minutes for the visitors to break the deadlock in Birmingham as Payne threaded Momiki in behind the West Brom defence for the Japan international to slot home.

Momiki then added her second with aplomb in a superb individual move as she powered to the outside of the box before unleashing a shot across goal and into the top corner.

And the Toffees showed no let up after the break as they delivered a three-goal blow inside five minutes.

Vignola benefitted from the overlapping run of substitute Melissa Lawley who cut back for the Spaniard to fire home from the centre of the box just five minutes after the break.

Lawley has just returned to Merseyside from her loan spell at Burnley, making the Baggies familiar opposition from the FA Women’s National League’s Northern Premier Division.

Payne added a fourth three minutes later before Hobson was well-placed to rifle Maz Pacheco’s low cross past Charlotte Clarke and into the roof of the net on 55 minutes to complete the rout.
