The Adobe Women’s FA Cup 2025-26 is back this week, with the fourth round proper taking place.
Here are five stories to look out for across the action.
History makers
One of three teams competing in the fourth round proper for the first time in their history, York City are the lowest ranked side still standing. The club ran out 3-0 winners over Altrincham in the third round last month, with a Player of the Round performance from Katie Astle.
And the FA Women’s National League Division One North side – sitting tenth in the league standings – have been drawn away to Chatham Town next up.
The goals that cemented a place in history ❤️

WSL teams enter the fray
Meanwhile, the highest-ranked team in the Women’s FA Cup, Women’s Super League table toppers Manchester City take on AFC Bournemouth, whose 5-0 win over Fulham in the third round saw the club book their place in the fourth round for the first time.
All 12 WSL sides enter the competition at this stage, with City having flown out of the blocks this season, currently on a 15-game unbeaten run across all competitions. However, the Cherries are sitting pretty at the top of the FA Women’s National League South themselves, having scored 23 goals en-route to the fourth round.
One to watch
More than one milestone was reached in Hull City’s 2-1 victory over Mancunian Unity in the third round. Not only did they also reach the fourth round for the first time in their history but Hope Knight netted her 100th goal for the club.
Knight was involved in six of Hull’s seven goals scored against Stourbridge in the second round but will she make the scoresheet again this weekend and keep up her impressive streak?

Scoring streak
Another player in form in this season’s competition is Emma Siddall of Burnley. The former Manchester City defender has scored in every round since the club entered the competition, including an emphatic 10-0 showing against local rivals Blackburn Rovers, a 4-0 win against Norwich City and a 7-0 victory over Peterborough United.
The club travel to Manchester United on Sunday as they look to progress in the Women’s FA Cup.
What a strike from Emma Siddall! 🤯

Four-time Women’s FA Cup winner Jordan Nobbs is into her 17th season in the competition, now on the books of Newcastle United. The former Arsenal midfielder, who lifted the trophy in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016, has also competed in the FA Cup with her first club Sunderland and Aston Villa, finishing as a runner-up on three further occasions.
Newcastle take on West Ham United on Friday night at Gateshead International Stadium – one of four ties selected for live broadcast across the weekend – with the game available to watch on TNT Sports 1.
