New England MU20s coach Lee Carsley selects his squad for October's game with Wales

Friday 02 Oct 2020
Lee Carsley will take charge of England MU20s during the 2020-21 campaign

England MU20s will meet up at St. George’s Park next week as they face a game with Wales at the national football centre.

Lee Carsley takes charge of the Young Lions this season and he’s named a 21-man squad for the camp, with the game taking place on Tuesday 13 October.

The majority of Carsley’s squad featured last term as MU19s and were aiming to reach the U19 EURO Finals before the COVID-19 outbreak caused their Elite Round Qualifiers in Denmark in March to be postponed.

Those games are now currently scheduled to take place in November, with the Finals planned to be held as a straight knockout tournament in Northern Ireland in March, so it will be this group of players contesting for that championship.

The Squad

Goalkeepers: Luca Ashby Hammond (Fulham), Marcus Dewhurst (Sheffield United, on loan to Carlisle), Carl Rushworth (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Defenders: Ajibola Alese (West Ham United), Lee Buchanan (Derby County), Codey Drameh (Leeds United)**, Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Manchester City), Henry Lawrence (Chelsea), Valentino Livramento (Chelsea), Nathanael Ogbeta (Manchester City)*, Luke Thomas (Leicester City)

Midfielders: Xavier Amaechi (Hamburg SV), Tommy Doyle (Manchester City), James Garner (Manchester United, loan to Watford), Anthony Gordon (Everton), Paris Maghoma (Brentford), Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa), Morgan Whittaker (Derby County)
