Michael Phenix suspended

Michael Phenix has been suspended from all football and football related activity for four years and warned as to his future conduct following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.

The former defender admitted to the presence of Oxandrolone, an exogenous anabolic androgenic steroid, its metabolite 17-epioxandrolone, and Benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in a urine sample that was collected out-of-competition by UK Anti-Doping officials on 17 September 2018 whilst he was registered with Southport FC.

The suspension, which encompasses a four-year ban for a breach of Regulation 3 (a) of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations 2018-19 and a breach of FA Regulation 4.1.2 of the Social Drugs Policy Regulations 2018-2019, was effective from 17 September 2018 and will remain until 16 September 2022.
