Top DJ Annie Mac to perform at Wembley ahead of Saturday's Emirates FA Cup Final

Annie Mac, of BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds, will perform a DJ set ahead of the Emirates FA Cup Final

There won’t just be superstars on the Wembley pitch at Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup Final, as the pre-match playlist will be delivered by superstar DJ Annie Mac.

One of BBC Radio 1’s biggest artists and the UK’s top floor-fillers, Annie has hand-picked a 24-track build-up towards the game between Manchester City and Watford which will be played from when the gates open.

And she will then perform a short set in the stadium from 4.30pm, as the countdown to kick-off really gets going.

“I’m bricking it! I mean, I’ve played big gigs, but nothing like this!” said Dublin-born Annie ahead of the day.

“It’s one for the books, but he fundamental difference is that no-one is there to see me.

“It’s about something huge, something that means everything to the people in the bowl. It’s about setting the atmosphere for them and bringing the emotion and the excitement in the atmosphere out.”

As the game draws closer, we also have the Band of the Welsh Guards to play a central role in the traditional pre-match proceedings, performing a pre-match marching display on the pitch and leading the performances of Abide with Me and the National Anthem.

The National Anthem will be sung by Belle Voci in their first performance at an FA Cup Final, and Abide with Me will be sung by vocal group Urban Voices Collective.

The pre-match entertainment will climax with the unveiling of club winch banners, a central banner paying tribute to all 736 teams to have played in the competition this season.
