England's Faustino Anjorin is congratulated after making it 2-0 at St. George's Park

England U18s got their week off to a good start at St. George’s Park on Thursday evening, with a 4-0 victory over Sweden.

Neil Dewsnip’s side have been based at the national football centre this week ahead of their games against the Swedes and Monday’s match with Czech Republic.

And after beating Netherlands, Russia and France on foreign soil to win the Limoges Tournament last month, they looked more than at home back in Burton.

The Young Lions started the game well and dominated possession from the off, but it took just over 20 minutes before they found a breakthrough.

It came from Tyreece John-Jules, who scored from the penalty spot after an earlier foul in the area.

Arvin Appiah volleys home England's third goal against Sweden

It looked as though England would have to settle for a single goal lead at the break, but that changed when Faustino Anjorin scored on the stroke of half time to double the lead.

The next goal was perhaps the pick of the bunch, as Arvin Appiah acrobatically added a third goal to seal a impressive victory for Dewsnip’s side.

And a header from Ethan Laird in the later stages rounded-off the goalscoring, with the Young Lions now looking to take their confidence into Monday's game with Czech Republic.
