England Women's U21s will get together for training camp in November

Thursday 01 Nov 2018
Mo Marley will work with a 22 player squad in November as England Women's U21s get together for the first time

Mo Marley has named her England U21s squad for this month’s training camp.

The 22-strong squad, introduced for the current season, will be based in Warwick and will train at St. George's Park [4-7 November].

13 of the group represented England at the U20 World Cup finals in France under Marley earlier this year and a handful of this squad will be invited to take part in senior team training as part of our approach to youth development and providing a pathway for talented youngsters.

Lionesses head coach Phil Neville, who awarded seven players their full international debuts in September’s World Cup qualifying match in Kazakhstan, said: “I’m looking forward to inviting a number of the U21 team into our senior squad training sessions during the international camp.

“It will give them an excellent experience and allow me to see at first-hand how much progress they’ve made in recent months.

England's U20s won bronze at the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in Brittany earlier this year

“Providing young players with the opportunity to progress into the senior team is something that Mo Marley and I are very keen to encourage, so having the U21s on camp at the same time is a great opportunity for us to do just that.”

Neville's seniors will be preparing for their World Cup warm-up games with Austria and Sweden, with the Lionesses squad for those games named earlier this week.
