Kieran Trippier says the support and reaction from fans to England’s World Cup campaign at home and in Russia continues to inspire the Three Lions squad.

The Spurs right-back has been one of the key men in the squad as Gareth Southgate’s side have reached the World Cup semi-final.

And he was a special guest on Sunday’s edition of the Lions’ Den, when he saw more clips of the scenes across the country following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Sweden.

“They’ve been amazing,” said the former Burnley ace.

“Obviously, it’s difficult to get out here but the supporters who have travelled have been unbelievable.

“And seeing the fans back home on social media has been amazing.

“It gives you goosebumps to see how happy they are and we want to keep on improving as a team and give them more moments like this.

“These are special moments for our fans and they fully deserve it.

“That’s the most important thing, everyone comes together and we want to make them feel proud.

“We want to make our own history and do great things so to see all the fans and the videos and how emotional it is to them, we want to just keep going and making them celebrate even more.”

The 26-year-old was born just a few months after England’s last appearance in a World Cup semi-final at Italia ’90, along with another 16 members of the current squad who also weren’t born as Sir Bobby Robson’s Three Lions lost to West Germany on penalties.

But with the euphoria of Saturday’s win having turned into focus on Wednesday’s match with Croatia, Trippier says England will be ready to go again in Moscow.

“We can’t wait to get going now against Croatia,” he added.

“Just to be a part of it, we’re absolutely buzzing. It’s an amazing achievement from all the lads.”
