Tring Athletic beat Hullbridge Sports 5-1 to reach the last 16

Tring Athletic continued their dream run in the Buildbase FA Vase as they thumped Hullbridge Sports 5-1 to reach the last 16 of the tournament.

An own goal helped Tring into a narrow 1-0 half-time lead before Jack Read, Chris Vardy, Mark Riddick and Max Hercules all fired home to send Athletic into the fifth round proper for the first time in their history.

Wolverhampton Sporting Community also continued their best ever run in the tournament as they edged out Cogenhoe United 3-2.

The visitors wasted no time in asserting their dominance as they raced into a 2-0 lead as captain Mitch Clarke and a bullet header from Keiron Northwood put Wolves in dreamland.

But Cogenhoe weren’t done there as they sparked a fine comeback with goals from Sean McBride and Ryan Dove to level proceedings.

As the clock ran down, Sporting were able to find a winner after a beautiful through-ball from Northwood found Wes Grey, who fired a powerful drive past Stuart Lutter to send Wolves into the fifth round proper.

Goals from Harry Grant and Baboucarr Jarra helped Thatcham Town into the hat for the next round – nudging Biggleswade out of the competition.

Three goals in the final 15 minutes sparked a fine comeback as Windsor came from behind to beat Eastbourne Town 3-1.

A fine strike from Evan Archibald after 27 minutes looked to have given Town the victory but Kieran Knight levelled things up with 15 minutes to play.

Three minutes from the end, Nadir Shafi was able to fire the visitors in front and a 97th minute strike from Matthew Stockill confirmed Windsor’s place in the last 16 for the first time since they were formed in 2011.

Elsewhere, Hamble Club prolonged their fairytale run as they trounced Westfields 4-1 and Bromsgrove Sporting also had an away day to remember, beating Wisbech Town 3-1.

Chichester City secured their place in the fifth round proper with a 2-1 victory over Horley whilst Melksham Town downed Crowborough Athletic by the same scoreline.
