Chelsea were at their brilliant best against Doncaster Rovers Belles

Chelsea beat Doncaster Rovers Belles 6-0 at Kingsmeadow to book their place in the quarter-finals of the SSE Women’s FA Cup.

Emma Hayes’ side dominated the opening period and wasted several good opportunities, but Ji So-yun clipped home on 13 minutes at the second attempt after being denied by the impressive Bethan Davies between the Belles sticks, who made a string of good saves throughout.

Maren Mjelde struck the bar and both Ramona Bachmann and Fran Kirby both went close on more than one occasion, while at the other end, Carly Telford smartly denied Rebecca Rayner after Sophie Walton’s free-kick caused chaos in the Chelsea box.

Kirby slotted home early in the second period to double Chelsea’s lead before Spence found the top corner moments later after being beautifully found by Ji.

Scotland striker Erin Cuthbert headed a fourth after linking up superbly with fellow substitute Eni Aluko in a sweeping Chelsea counter midway through the second half.

Bachmann added a fifth from the spot on 79 minutes and Cuthbert’s sublime turn and shot moments from the whistle completed the rout.

Everton also enjoyed a 6-0 win, with Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah bagging a hat-trick as the Toffees eased into the quarter-finals at Lewes’ expense.

Boye-Hlorkah scored all three of her goals in the first half, with Chloe Kelly also getting on the scoresheet to make it 4-0.

Captain Danielle Turner added a fifth for Everton on 69 minutes and Megan Finnigan popped up one minute from time to power a header past goalkeeper Faye Baker, for her first senior Everton goal.

City neighbours Liverpool also progressed away from home with a 3-0 win over Chichester City

Rinsola Babajide’s first goal for Liverpool opened the scoring before goals from Ashley Hodson and Bethany England either side of half-time made the score line more comfortable.

Manchester City needed extra time to beat Birmingham City, but eventually won 3-1 in Solihull.

Nadia Nadim scored after 13 minutes for the visitors but Ellen White equalised on 37 minutes.

Georgia Stanway hit the winner for City seven minutes into extra time before Claire Emslie made sure of the result in the 119th minute.

Elsewhere, Arsenal progressed against Millwall with Beth Mead scoring the only goal of the game.

There were also wins for Charlton Athletic, who beat Cardiff City 3-1, and Sunderland, who beat Aston Villa 3-2.

The final side into the last eight were Durham FC who won 5-2 against Leicester City in an entertaining display.
