Sixteen clubs will make their Emirates FA Cup bow in extra preliminary round

The extra preliminary round gets under way on Friday night

Sixteen clubs will enjoy their first-ever taste of Emirates FA Cup action when the extra preliminary round gets under way at the weekend.

Less than three months after Chelsea lifted the famous trophy for the eighth time, the competition begins again with a mammoth 184 ties.

Winning clubs will receive £2,250 from The FA prize fund, with the losers each picking up £750.

And here is an introduction to the 16 clubs who will make their FA Cup bow at the weekend (Coggeshall Town and Ossett United will make their Cup debuts in the preliminary round on Saturday 25 August).

AFC Stoneham
Based in Eastleigh, near Southampton, Stoneham play in the Wessex League Division One after enjoying a rise through their local leagues over the last decade. Originally formed in 1919, they now have over 23 teams. With new floodlights in place this season and a new facility to move in the coming years, they will now make their FA Cup bow at home against AFC Portchester.

Andover New Street
Another Wessex League (Premier Division) side and FA Charter Standard club, Andover New Street run men's and women's teams, along with a 'Streets Ahead' team which is all-inclusive to those of both sexes who find it difficult to participate in mainstream football teams. They will play Romsey Town at home.

Baffins Milton Rovers
Based in Portsmouth and from the Wessex League Premier Division, the club opened new facilities in 2016 after Football Foundation funding. And after seven years of hard work, they’ve now reached T\he FA Cup, where they will play Tadley Calleva.

Balham
Based in south London and formed in 2011, from the successful Balham Blazers junior teams. They play their games at Colliers Wood United and they’re a 'Nike Partner Club' whose ethos is to 'Bring a bit of Barcelona to Balham'. The Combined Counties League Premier Division side will face East Preston away.

Belper United
Formed in 1969, they play in East Midlands Counties League and will make their FA Cup debut against Quorn. They will share a ground with Belper Town, who play at Christchurch Meadow, this season.

Blyth AFC
The club was officially formed in 2015, after the combination of two clubs in the town by local businessman Barry Elliott. Previously known as Blyth Town, they took on their new name at the start of last season. The club play in the Northern League Division One and have Charter Standard adult club status. They are away to Glasshoughton Welfare for their FA Cup debut.

Broadfields United
Based in Harrow, they play in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. Established in 1993, the club saw its facilities burnt down in a tragic incident in the 2001-02 season, but kept on playing and bounced back to seal an FA Cup spot in this year’s competition. They will play Banstead Athletic at home.

Coggeshall Town
Formed in Essex in 1878 and once boasted the playing services of singer Olly Murs, who is still a regular at their West Street home. The club won the Eastern Counties League Premier Division last season and they are exempt until the preliminary round when they will play Witham at home.

Easington Sports
Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire and play in the Hellenic League Division One West. The club was formed in 1946, but a new stand in 2016 and lights in 2017 have allowed them to compete in The FA Cup and they will play fellow debutants Winslow United away.

Hamble Club
First formed in 1969 and based in Hampshire, the club reached The FA Vase second round last season and will now start their first FA Cup adventure against Alresford Town.

K Sports
Based in Aylesford, Kent and compete in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division. Their current name was adopted in 2016, having previously been known as Aylesford Paper Mills (they’re still nick-named the Paperboys), Reed International, APM Contrast and APM Mears. They will play Pagham at home in the extra preliminary round.

Langney Wanderers
From the coastal town of Eastbourne, they play in the Southern Combination Premier Division and groundshare with Eastbourne Borough. First established in 2010, when they played in the Lewes Sunday League, they will start their first FA Cup campaign with a game against Epsom & Ewell.

Lutterworth Town
Based in Leicestershire, Lutterworth Town have entered the Emirates FA Cup for the first time in their history. They finished third in the Future Lions United Counties League Division One last season with a goal difference of +67, the best in the division. They will entertain Heanor Town in the extra preliminary round.

Pinchbeck United
From Spalding in Lincolnshire, where they play their home games at Spalding United's ground. They were promoted to the United Counties League Premier Division in 2017 and now make their FA Cup debut against Rothwell Corinthians.

Roman Glass St George
Bristol-based St. George were initially founded in 1872, which makes them the oldest club in the city. They play in the Western League Premier Division and merged with Roman Glass in 1995 when they became a new club. They face a trip to Bradford Town.

Sandbach United
The North West Counties League Division One South side are based in Cheshire and were formed in 2004, following the merging of Sandbach Albion and Sandbach Ramblers. The club has a strong community and junior set up and entered the FA Vase for first time last season. They will play Parkgate in their FA Cup debut.

Winslow United
Based in Buckinghamshire and play in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. Founded in 1891, they will play another debutant club in Easington Sports.

Ossett United
Ossett United were formed by a merger between Ossett Albion and Ossett Town for the 2018-19 season. The Northern Premier League Division One East side will start their FA Cup campaign in the preliminary round against Mossley.
