Tottenham Hotspur Ladies visited St George's Park last week to take advantage of the facilities at the national football centre.

Courtesy of Nike, Karen Hills’s squad were put through an intense training day in the build-up to the team's first season in FA WSL 2.

The visit included a full tour of the facilities, guided by FA sports science staff.

The team then took part in a pre-activation gym session followed by two intense pitch sessions.

Spurs were then guided through a recovery session in the centre's hydrotherapy pools as they prepare for their opening fixture against Durham.

Hills said: “The team had a very enjoyable day, being able to access all the fantastic facilities.

“It was a very worthwhile experience for us all.

“We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. George's Park who were extremely helpful throughout the day and to Nike for facilitating the experience.”

Meanwhile, Everton Ladies and Chelsea Ladies contested a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly fixture in east Staffordshire.

Millie Bright and Gilly Flaherty were on target in a 2-1 victory for the London club.

It proved a useful exercise for both sides who are gearing up for the new campaign, with the Toffees returning to the top tier for the first time in three years.
