The Young Lions will face three games on home soil in November

England U17s will continue their preparations for next summer’s Euro Finals on home soil with games against Portugal, Russia and Germany in November.

Young Lions boss Steve Cooper has picked a 21-man squad for the mini-tournament, which kicks-off on Wednesday 8 November when England face Portugal at Chesterfield FC.

U17 International Tournament
  • 8-14 November 2017
  • Chesterfield, Burton Albion, Rotherham United
  • Tickets: £3/£1.50

They then take on Russia at Burton Albion on Saturday 11 November before the final game with Germany is hosted at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium on Tuesday 14 November.

As host nation of the 2018 Euros, Cooper’s team automatically qualify for the Finals next May and the head coach will be hoping to go one better than last season when the class of 2016-17 impressed throughout the campaign only to lose the Euro Final in Croatia after a penalty shootout against Spain.

But Cooper and his squad made up for that last weekend, beating Spain by 5-2 to lift the U17 World Cup in India.

This season’s new crop of U17s began their campaign in August when they enjoyed victories against Turkey and Scotland at St. George’s Park before a narrow 2-1 defeat against Italy in Kidderminster.
