Potton United produced the first shock of the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round with a 2-0 win over ten-man AFC Dunstable on Friday night.
Dunstable saw striker BJ Christie sent off after just 28 minutes and United took the lead soon after through Joe Aris much to the delight of the home crowd.
Courtney Broughton added a second ten minutes from time to book United’s place in the draw for the first qualifying round.
Elsewhere, Prescot Cables came from behind to earn a replay with City of Liverpool, who saw Ryan Mitchell sent off in the second half.
Lloyd Dean put Cables ahead but the home side conceded a penalty when Kevin McEllin was brought down and John Connolly levelled from the spot.
And City of Liverpool took the lead through Karl Noon’s 40-yard lob but when Liverpool’s Mitchell was shown a red card Dale Wright made no mistake to pull the Cables side level at 2-2.
Mitchell Wiseman scored twice as Egham Town came from a goal down to see off AC London 5-1 and book their place in the next round.
After conceding after just 13 minutes, Town brought themselves level five minutes before the break when Ryan Phillips’ cross was fumbled by the home goalkeeper into his own net.
And two second-half goals from Wiseman put Egham firmly in control before Matty Woods and Wayne Carter added gloss to the scoreline with goals in the final three minutes.
Finally, an 85th-minute Salim Relizani goal was enough for Cambridge City to see off ten-man Stamford AFC 1-0 in the final match of the evening.
