Nominations are now open for the second annual FA Mars Just Play Awards – giving members of the public the opportunity to recognise the people who bring the Just Play programme to life.

There are four award categories; Just Play Centre of the Year, Just Player of the Year, Just Play Organiser of the Year and the Just Play Legacy Award.

The winners will be honoured at a special reception hosted by Mars Chocolate and The FA at the House of Commons on Monday 6 June.

Andy Dyke, The FA’s participation manager for recreational football, said: “We owe the success of our Just Play kickabouts to the thousands of players, teams and organisers that make it happen in their communities.

“The FA Mars Just Play Awards are all about celebrating their outstanding efforts nationwide.”

Blas Maquivar, president of UK Chocolate and Global Retail Mars, added: “We want to celebrate the UK’s grassroots football heroes – people who play passionately or give up their time to be volunteers and organisers of Just Play sessions up and down the country.”

The FA Mars Just Play initiative has successfully created over one million opportunities for adults across the UK to play football.

In addition to receiving an award and certificate of achievement at the reception, winners will also be rewarded with special prizes, ranging from the chance to see behind the scenes at an England training session to corporate hospitality tickets to an England game, or a signed and framed England shirt to display at their Just Play Centre.

To nominate your FA Mars Just Play football heroes, simply visit the Just Play website and fill out the appropriate entry form before Thursday 21 April.
