The FA's chief executive Martin Glenn has offered his personal tribute to Johan Cruyff, who passed away in Barcelona on Thursday.

Glenn said at St. George's Park: "I’m really sad to hear of his passing. I remember when I was 14, watching him at the 1974 World Cup and my mouth dropping to the floor when he did that fantastic turn.

"That was then branded the Cruyff turn and I remember my friends all trying to do it, and sadly myself not very well.

"That Netherlands side were a fantastic footballing team, and Cruyff was a fantastic servant to the game.

"He did wonderfully well in playing and in management and it is always sad to hear of greats like him passing.

"But for all of us we will always think and remember the great things he gave us."

Glenn confirmed that he would meet with the Dutch FA ahead of Tuesday's match with the Oranje to agree a fitting tribute to the three-time Balon d'Or-winner and coach.
