England Under-20s will now take on Canada Under-20s at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium on Easter Sunday later this month.

The match-up will be Keith Downing’s first since he was named as permanent head coach of the age group, having been formally appointed last month.

And Canada’s youngsters will provide a stiff test in South Yorkshire after original opponents Ghana withdrew.

The game at Doncaster will be the U20s' first fixture of 2016, and the first Three Lions game at the venue in three years. On that occasion, Noel Blake's U19s beat Denmark by 3-1 in February 2013 with the likes of John Stones, Eric Dier, Calum Chambers, Nathan Redmond and Chuba Akpom all involved.

Canada also played against the U20s last season and held them to a 2-2 draw at AFC Bournemouth's Goldsands Stadium in November 2014. Goals from Akpom and debutant Baily Cargill had looked to have given Aidy Boothroyd's side victory, only for a late equaliser from Canada's Jordan Hamilton to see it end all square in an entertaining match.
